Chainalytics Names Gary Girotti To Lead Transportation Practice

Girotti To Drive Continued Growth of Chainalytics' Services and Thought Leadership

Atlanta, GA - August 07, 2003 - Chainalytics LLC announced today that Gary Girotti has joined the company as vice president in charge of Chainalytics' transportation practice. Girotti, who comes to Chainalytics from i2 Technologies, will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of Chainalytics' transportation service offerings to leading companies in the manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, and logistics service provider industries. Gary succeeds Dr. Chris Caplice, who will transition to the role of Chief Scientist in conjunction with his return to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as executive director of the Master of Engineering in Logistics (MLOG) program.

As the new leader of Chainalytics transportation practice, Girotti will drive the company's leading services for strategic transportation management, which include transportation strategy, modeling, optimal analysis, and procurement. He will also extend the company's recently launched offerings in analytical outsourcing and transportation technology assessment.

"Gary's experience and thought leadership will build on what is already an impressive management team," said Chainalytics CEO and president, Mike Kilgore. "Gary's commitment to customer success, along with his proven leadership abilities, will have an immediate impact on our transportation practice. Gary will work closely with our supply chain strategy and inventory planning organizations to enhance our integrated go-to-market and service delivery efforts."

Prior to joining Chainalytics, Gary served as vice president in charge of logistics products at i2 Technologies where he managed product development, marketing, and delivery for i2's logistics solutions including logistics network optimization, transportation modeling, and transportation management. Prior to this role, Gary held numerous positions in product management for i2's Logistics Solutions Group and its predecessor, InterTrans Logistics. Before joining InterTrans in 1996, Gary worked with Bain and Company helping Fortune 500 companies to improve their management of logistics. Gary also has prior experience with international logistics firms including Nedlloyd Container Lines and CP Rail Systems.

"Chainalytics offers a unique approach and unparalleled intellectual capital," said Girotti. "The company's combination of transportation expertise, analytical skills and advanced technologies make it stand apart from the crowd."

In his new role as Chief Scientist, Dr. Caplice will lead Chainalytics' research of new techniques and technologies that continue to enhance its service delivery and client success. Dr. Caplice will also continue to direct the soon-to-be-announced Model-Based Benchmarking Consortium.

Gary holds an MBA from University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Engineering from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.
